2020 Jeep Gladiator
2020 Jeep Gladiator in Ocean Township, NJ
It's Finally Here!
The Jeep pickup has finally arrived! The Gladiator debuted at the Los Angeles auto show, and it looks strikingly similar to the 2019 Motor Trend SUV of the Year, Jeep Wrangler. While similar to the Wrangler in many ways, the Gladiator stands on its own as a fantastic addition to the Jeep lineup. Read more below to see what makes the Gladiator unique!
Engine
The standard 3.6-liter V-6 engine rests under the hood of the Gladiator, producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Later due in 2020, a 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel engine will be introduced with the same horsepower, but will come with 442 pound-feet of torque. Four-wheel drive, as well as a six-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard, but the Gladiator will also come with the option for an eight-speed automatic transmission. However, only the eight-speed automatic transmission will be offered with the EcoDiesel engine. The towing capacity of the 3.6-liter V-6 will be 7650 pounds, along with a payload of 1650 pounds. Due to the nature of the EcoDiesel engine, its towing capacity will suffer only slightly.
Trim Levels
The four trim levels offered for the Gladiator will be the Sport, Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon trim levels. The Overland trim level will be very similar to the Wrangler's Sahara trim level. Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator will be offered with a three-piece hard top or a folding soft top. Every trim level comes with a four-door cab, and a five-foot bed as standard. The doors also come off as easily as they would on a Wrangler, and of course the windshield can also fold down.
Pricing
Jeep announced that the Gladiator will start off at $35,040 for the Sport trim level, $38,240 for the Sport S, $41,890 for the Overland, and $45,040 for the Rubicon. Given the Gladiator's over the top performance and the competitors it aims to leave in the dust, the Gladiator's pricing was initially speculated to start off in the low to mid $50,000's range. As you can clearly see, Jeep not only made its pickup a top of its class competitor, but they made the pricing on it competitive as well!
