2020 Jeep WranglerThe iconic Jeep Wrangler is what Jeep is all about. It still has the same look it had when it first came out, and over the years, it has evolved into a four-wheel-drive vehicle with unmatched capabilities. No matter what model you get, the Wrangler can take you where most other cars and trucks cannot go, and the reason for this is all of its off-road equipment. Here are some of the off-road features you didn’t know about the 2020 Jeep Wrangler.

1. It has Three Different Available 4×4 Systems

Jeep offers the Wrangler with three different 4×4 systems. The Sahara comes with a full-time Selec-Trac 4×4 System that will automatically switch from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive when you need it. On clear, dry roads, the system will use just two wheels, but if you hit mud or snow, it automatically engages all four wheels. The Command-Trac 4×4 System drives torque to all the wheels when needed, and it has excellent low-range torque to give you traction when you go rock crawling.

The Rock-Trac 4×4 System provides unbeatable performance when you take the Wrangler off-road. It has a 4:1 low gear ratio, and Tru-Lok electronic locking for both the front and rear differentials. This, along with the electronic front sway bar makes this ready for any adventure.

2. The Tires

The off-road-ready Rubicon model has 33-inch all-terrain tires. This not only provides a larger surface area than regular tires, but it also increases the ground clearance making it easier to get over rough terrain. The larger tires improve traction and give the driver more control when the Wrangler is off-road.

For the 2020 model year, Jeep also offers two special edition Willys. These have 32-inch mud-terrain tires, along with a limited-slip rear differential, and rock rails.

3. The Steel Bumper Group

The Rubicon comes standard with Dana 44 Heavy-duty axles and a performance suspension system. It also has front tow hooks, skid plates for the fuel tank and the transfer case, and sway bar disconnect. For more off-road features, you can add the Steel Bumper Group. This has a winch-capable front steel bumper with integrated fog lights, removable end caps, and it adds a steel rear bumper. This group is an available option if you have the LED Lighting Group.

4. The Power

You can drive off-road without a good amount of power, and the Jeep Wrangler gives you engine options. The base powertrain is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and if you want extra power, there is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder available. This will get you 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. For 2020, a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo diesel will arrive, and this will get 260 horsepower and develop an impressive 442 pound-feet of torque.

The Jeep Wrangler is the ultimate off-road vehicle. Over the years, Jeep has made the on-road ride more comfortable and family-friendly, but they have done this without changing its capabilities off the road. Visit The Jeep Store today or schedule a test drive.
