Stella Marina Take a pleasant stroll along the boardwalk to find Stella Marina. This bar and restaurant seeks to establish a trendy, hip atmosphere with its bottle-shaped chandeliers and casual decor. But the real star of the show is the food. Rustic Italian cuisine is the specialty at Stella Marina. Make sure you try the escarole bean soup or calamari to get your taste buds activated before digging into a main course like the gnocchi with prosciutto and mushrooms or the filet mignon with gorgonzola cream and fingerling potatoes. Don't forget to ask about the restaurant's winter specials, which can include discounted meals and wine. Pasta Volo Get a casual bite to eat at Pasta Volo. Talula's There is no better place for pizza along the Jersey Shore than at Talula's. This is a small place with a simple menu, but everything is delicious. This restaurant offers some unusual pizza options including the Beekeeper's Lament with tomato sauce, Calabrian soppressata, fresh mozzarella, and local honey. There is also the Green Eggs pizza, which has cheddar cheese, chimichurri eggs, red potatoes, and chives. All the sandwiches come on house-baked bread, and you can even start with some freshly baked bread and house butter. more Piccola Italia Piccola Italia, located on W. Park Ave in Oakhurst, has a menu with a variety of authentic Italian dishes to choose from. Some of the starters include crispy calamari and slowly braised duck pot stickers. You can also get Gorgonzola steak fries or antipasto to start. The housemade burrata ravioli is a sweet potato puree with sage brown butter, balsamic apple, and apple snap cookie crumble. Other main course meals include lentil seared salmon, Basque-style cod & clams, or an herb-seared filet mignon. Barrio Costero Barrio Costero offers a mix of Mexican and seafood dishes on the menu, and there is something for everyone. You can get anything from fish tacos to ceviche and even a delicious kale salad. The atmosphere at Barrio Costero is laid back with a cool vibe and trendy decor. Some of the dishes you might enjoy include the beef cheek tacos that come with grilled pineapple, onion, cilantro, and salsa verde or the carne asada which is a potato quesadilla topped with a fried egg and rajas. There is also a scallop dish with black quinoa, golden raisins, orange, and boquerone chimichurri. Brunch at Barrio includes chilaquiles, torta, and steak and eggs. The Speakeatery Choose the Speakeatery for a quick and delicious meal. This place specializes in sandwiches, but they are not your ordinary sandwiches. Some of the local favorites include the mushroom cheesesteak sandwich or the Haight and Ashbury Park Boomer which comes with portobello mushrooms, provolone cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and onions along with roasted red pepper aioli. The Back Alley Brawler is also a crowd favorite. It has a chicken cutlet either fried or grilled, homemade fresh mozzarella, and sauteed broccoli raab. This is all served on a garlic bread hero. The Speakeatery also has a selection of burgers, several vegetarian dishes, a variety of salads, and some breakfast options that you can get all day. Our four-legged friends need to run and play just like we do, but it is not always easy to find a good place for them to stretch their legs. In Ocean Township, there are dog parks that allow you to let your dog off-leash so they can run around and socialize with other dogs. Make sure to check out these dog parks in the area the next time you want to take your pet out to play. 8th Avenue Dog Park 8th Avenue Dog Park in Asbury Park, NJ, is more of a dog beach than a park. This beach allows dogs after 6 p.m. until 8:30 a.m., and it is a great place for them to play. They can run in the water and dig in the sand while you walk along the beach. There are always lots of other dogs to play with, and you'll find friendly owners to talk to. Make sure to bring some water for your pup and pick up after them. more Wolf Hill Dog Park Wolf Hill Dog Park is just outside of Ocean Township and has two off-leash areas. It has an area for dogs of all sizes and another area specifically for smaller dogs under 35 pounds. The park has waste bags and garbage cans in both areas, making it easy to clean up after your pet, and there are portable toilets for humans near the park. There is no water near the park, so make sure you bring some for your dog and you too if you want it. Thompson Dog Park Bring your dog to Thompson Dog Park in Middleton, NJ, for a fun afternoon. This park has a fenced in dog area within the larger park. There is a separate space for small dogs, and there are many paved walkways in the park if you want to bring your four-legged friend for an on-leash walk before or after they play. This park also has a doggy water fountain, so there is plenty of water for them to drink, and there are bags available to pick up any messes. You are welcome to bring balls and Frisbees for your dog to play with as long as they are not territorial about it. Wolf Hill Recreation Area Wolf Hill Recreation area in Eatontown is another great place to bring your dog. This area has two off-leash areas with one designated for dogs 35 pounds and under and the other for dogs of any size. There are dog waste bags available along with trash cans in both areas. Make sure to bring water to these dog parks, since there are no water sources on site. This is a large park with lots of space for the dogs to run and play, and there are always other dogs there for your pet to play with. The Renegade's designers added playful extras, too: the tachometer is marked with a mud splash, and the display on the available parking assist shows the surrounding vehicles as 1940s Jeeps. Comfort and Convenience The driver's seat and front passenger seat are roomy, and rear passengers have abundant head and shoulder space, though designers tightened the rear leg room to save space. Cargo space reaches 50.8 cubic feet when you fold down the rear seats. Most models also let you fold down the front passenger seat for longer objects like ladders. You'll also find plenty of nooks and crannies for small items like your phone. Power features and a rearview camera are standard on all models. On-Road and Off-Road Performance With its compact size and tight turning radius, the Renegade suits urban and suburban living. It gets in and out of small spaces like garages and parallel parking spaces with ease. The 4x4 models have Jeep's all-weather system, Selec-Terrain. It starts with all four wheels engaged but decreases power to the rear wheels as you accelerate. Above 40 mph, the Renegade drives as a front-wheel-drive vehicle, maximizing your fuel economy. But if it senses slippage, it engages the rear wheels to improve your traction. Adventurous drivers can choose from the Renegade's various modes (Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud) that optimize the drivetrain according to your terrain. The Trailhawk trim level comes with a fifth mode (Rock) and hill descent control. Whether you're a city slicker, a suburban dweller, or a rugged off-roader, you'll find something to love about the Jeep Renegade. It's a fun and budget-friendly choice for drivers in the SUV market.

They also offer custom catering. more Coney Waffle When you're in the mood for ice cream, there are few that can satisfy the craving the way Coney Waffle can. Established in 2015, Coney Waffle is based on the concept first created in 1941 by the owner's grandmother for her Coney Island concession stand. Coney Waffle has four locations in New Jersey, and each offers uniquely designed waffle cones as well as The Cannoli Waffle, The Galaxy Cone, and The Side Show Shake. Forty-plus flavors of hard ice cream, vegan alternatives, and frozen drinks are offered at all four locations, and the Long Branch location is certified Kosher. Summer is quickly fading, but that doesn't mean you have to be sad. Beat the end-of-summer blues by enrolling in a fall class in Asbury Park. The city offers numerous activities — from art classes to cooking classes — for interested residents. Pick up a new skill by checking out one of the following local offerings. Art Let your inner artist blossom by attending an art class at the Main Avenue Galleria at 57 Main Ave. in Ocean Grove. Choose from either a one-day workshop in which you can perfect a specific skill or a multi-week course to strengthen your creative prowess. Some upcoming one-day workshop classes include: Pansy in Colored Pencils: Aug. 26 from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m.; cost is $35. Sips & Serendipity — Haifa by the Sea: Sept. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m.; cost is $40. Abstract Flowers Painting: Oct. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; cost is $65. All the multi-week courses are currently in progress, but keep your eyes peeled on the event page to plan for upcoming classes. This establishment is located at 618 Lake Ave. and offers assistance in guitar, bass, piano, vocals, and drums. If you have the basics of music down, you can also opt for lessons in songwriting, music theory, and audio engineering. You'll be taught by a number of working musicians who have years of experience performing. Cooking For cooking lessons, you'll have to drive to nearby Fair Haven to get to the Taste and Technique Cooking Studio. This culinary school is located at 597 River Road and offers numerous classes for adults who are looking to up their cooking game. Choose a participation class if you want to get your hands dirty or a demonstration class if you'd rather just watch how it's all done. Upcoming fall classes include: Autumn Decadence (partial participation): Sep. 30 from noon to 3 p.m.; cost is $75. The Indian Kitchen (partial participation): Oct. 4 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.; cost is $75. Oktoberfest (partial participation): Oct. 11 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.; cost is $75. Yoga Work on your flexibility, strength, and spirituality at an Asbury Park yoga class. One of the premiere yoga studios in the area is The Daley Practice at 625 Bangs Ave., Suite 1. They offer classes daily, so you can get your fill of downward dog whenever it's most convenient for you. Get your fill of delicious cuisine at one of these great Asian restaurants in Asbury Park. Taka Taka is located at 660 Cookman Ave. in Asbury Park and is open from noon until 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from noon until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Taka specializes in Japanese cuisines such as sushi and katsu. They have more than a dozen unique specialty sushi rolls that they created, including the crab mango or yuzu lobster rolls. Taka also serves sashimi and nigiri for those who most enjoy the taste of fish. The dinner options highlight some traditional Japanese dishes like chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, and either soba or udon noodle soup. Bamboo Leaf Bamboo Leaf is located at 724 Main St. in Bradley Beach and is open on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., and on Monday they are closed. If you like spicy Thai food, Bamboo Leaf is the place to go. Start your meal with an order of traditional spicy papaya salad that will leave you feeling refreshed. When it is time to order your entree, you can choose from curry, noodles, stir fry, or fried rice. more Yummy Yummy Chinese Restaurant Yummy Yummy Chinese Restaurant is located at 59 South Main St. in nearby Neptune. Yummy is only a few minutes away from Asbury Park, but if you want a quick Chinese meal, it's a great option. Their menu boasts all the classic American-Chinese dishes like General Tso's, sesame chicken, happy family, and triple delight. You can choose from pork, seafood, chicken, beef, or vegetable on any entree. Yummy even has lo mein and chow mein if you enjoy noodle dishes. Don't forget to order a crunchy egg roll or wonton soup with your meal too.
