You can also get linguine with marinara sauce, meat lasagna, and penne vodka if you need something filling. Sides Grill Diner & Cafe Sides Grill Diner & Cafe in Long Branch is one of the newer diners on the Jersey Shore. The menu has diner favorites along with some healthier options, too, making this a good stop if you want a dive atmosphere but still like to watch what you eat. The owners roast all their own meats and grow their own vegetables. You can sit in a bright and comfortable room while you eat, and the staff is friendly. The Steel Bumper Group The Rubicon comes standard with Dana 44 Heavy-duty axles and a performance suspension system. It also has front tow hooks, skid plates for the fuel tank and the transfer case, and sway bar disconnect. For more off-road features, you can add the Steel Bumper Group. This has a winch-capable front steel bumper with integrated fog lights, removable end caps, and it adds a steel rear bumper. This group is an available option if you have the LED Lighting Group. 4. The Power You can drive off-road without a good amount of power, and the Jeep Wrangler gives you engine options. The base powertrain is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and if you want extra power, there is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder available. This will get you 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. For 2020, a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo diesel will arrive, and this will get 260 horsepower and develop an impressive 442 pound-feet of torque. Even though the temperatures start to drop in the fall, there is still plenty of time to get outside and enjoy the fresh air in New Jersey. Ocean Township sits close to the Atlantic shoreline so there is always something to do near the water. Still, if you want to head inland, there are lots of outdoor activities too. Try these great outdoor activities before it gets too cold. 1. Golfing The season for golfing is winding down, so you should get out there before the courses close for the winter. There are several golf clubs and courses in the area, including the nine-hole William F. Larking Golf Course at Colonial Terrace and Hollywood Golf Club, a private club that hosts several tournaments each year. Hominy Hill Golf Course is also nearby. This is one of the top affordable golf courses in New Jersey and offers a warm-up range, beautiful greens, and a walking trail near the course. more 2. Play Disc Golf Head to Wolf Hill Recreation Area in Oceanport for some disc golf. This park has an 18-hole course that you can use during the regular park hours. Disc golf is similar to regular golf except that you use a flying disc, and you throw it from a paver brick tee pad toward a metal basket at the end of the fairway. This course is a great place to get started if you've never tried disc golf before, but it's still challenging for experienced players too. Get a scorecard at the first tee or download one before you hit the course. Allaire State Park also has a disc golf course. This is a challenging course, but it is well-maintained and has nice paver tee pads and good signage to help you get around. 3. Go Hiking Hit the trails at the Monmouth County Park System and get some exercise and fresh air before the snow starts to fall. The park system has over 139 miles of trails ranging from easy to challenging with a number of moderate hiking available too. For some beautiful views while hiking, head to Cattus Island County Park. This is a 500-acre sanctuary with miles of trails to follow along with a 1,500-foot boardwalk where you can see osprey and many other migratory songbirds. 4. Go Biking If you prefer the faster pace of biking, there are plenty of places you can go near Ocean Township. Allaire State Park has many trails, including one that runs along the Manasquan River. You can also bike over on the South Side at Allaire, where 15 different trails offer a range of terrain for both beginners and advanced riders. Bring your bike to Brick Reservoir to ride along the 1.6-mile trail of crushed rock or the Manasquan Reservoir County Park where there's a 5-mile perimeter trail that runs along the reservoir. Enjoy panoramic views over the water as you travel over the well-maintained surface. The temperatures will start to drop soon in New Jersey, and that means snow will begin to fall too. This park is set up for ATVs, dirt bikes, and go-karts. The park is run by the Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League and is open seven days a week. If you're out and about though, be sure to tow your go-kart with your Jeep because they don't offer rental vehicles of any kind. Old Bridge Township Raceway Park If you're looking for a chance to rev up your engine, this park may be just your ticket. This park offers an actual raceway and is customized for drag racers, motocross riders, and ATV riders. There are times available for practice, but this park is more focused on those wanting to participate in events. In addition to the races, there are also some community events designed for all ages, like car shows and swap meets. With the majority of plans for adding additional ATV parks for off-road vehicles in the area canceled, this park is the only one you'll find that is designed for competitive purposes. It is also a great place to take the family for an outing because you can bring your own vehicles and you're not limited to just an ATV or dirt bike. If you're looking for some adventure on a calm Saturday and want to get away from your normal routine, these parks are a great option. They offer some nice scenery, along with the option of some stunt driving. There's a beautiful beach to visit, but there's also an aquarium, which even offers an adopt-an-animal program that allows you to sponsor an aquatic creature and receive photographs and unique plushes. more The attraction has a concession stand complete with a Sweet Shop that's open all year, a built-in amusement park, and plenty of arcades with miniature golf. During fall, many of the attractions at the Boardwalk take on a different appearance, incorporating spooky themes into their rides and Halloween decorations throughout create a festive feeling. Sky Zone As one of the premier indoor trampoline parks, Sky Zone offers plenty of activity to keep the youngsters laughing and jumping for hours. They have a variety of different trampoline courses and events, such as their own Ninja Warrior Course, SkyHoops, SkyJoust, and Ultimate Dodgeball to keep the entire family entertained. They now even offer SkyWars, which is a competition that uses foam balls and a trampoline obstacle course to create a team tournament atmosphere with a game of capture the flag. Kane Brewing Company While not suitable for the children, this company has plenty to offer the adults in your group. It has a fine selection of premium craft beers. Their quality is unsurpassed and they focus on American blends with heavy Belgian influences. There's the option for a guided tour if you choose or you can take your troop solo and marvel at all the company has to offer. Township of Ocean Historical Museum For those wanting a more reserved weekend, this historical museum fits the bill. The Revolutionary War-era farmhouse brings history to life as its staff is extremely knowledgeable about the area and will keep your family entertained with tales of local folklore and legends. They offer many curated exhibits that are frequently rotated, so there's always something new and interesting for repeat visits. The Queen Mary Even during the fall, the Queen Mary sets sail for daily fishing expeditions to catch some local aquatic delicacies such as Blues, Alby, Sea Bass, and Porgy. In mid-October, special trips are also made for an attempt to catch Mahi and school tuna. So, if you've ever dreamed of sailing the high seas to pull in your dinner from the ocean, stop in for a treat and sail away into the fall's chillier waters. Autumn is for falling leaves and cooler temperatures, but that doesn't mean that nothing is interesting in Ocean Township. Stop by any of these attractions for some fun that doesn't necessarily involve pumpkins, ghosts, ghouls, or goblins. Silverball Museum Arcade For a day of fun and challenging games, head to the Silverball Museum Arcade on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. This unique attraction features the Pinball Hall of Fame and there are 600 games in circulation at the various locations. Test your skills with a number of classic pinball and arcade games, such as Space Mission, Friendship 7, Discs of Tron, and Street Fighter II. After working up an appetite playing games, stop by the Silverball Café for a slice of pizza, a hot dog, snacks, drinks, and ice cream. Silverball Museum is located at 1000 Ocean Ave. and is open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Full- and half-day passes are available, depending on how long you want to play. more Township of Ocean Historical Museum The Township of Ocean Historical Museum features the Eden Woolley House, which is the only remaining Woolley House in Ocean Township. The house was built in the 1700s and was originally a one-and-a-half story building. It was located at the corner of Route 35 and Deal Road. In 1835, Eden Woolley inherited the house and added on to it a Greek Revival style. In 2005, the house was moved to Joe Palaia Park. The house is now a repository of history dating back 250 years and features permanent and traveling exhibits, as well as photography and artwork galleries. Take a tour to learn more about the area's rich history or attend a lecture for a more in-depth look. The Township of Ocean Historical Museum is located at 703 Deal Rd. in Ocean, about 35 miles south of Asbury Park. The museum is open Tuesday through Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m., Thursday evenings March 15 to December 15 from 7 to 9 p.m., and the first and second Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. Historic Village of Allaire The Historic Village of Allaire is a living history museum in Allaire, about 10 miles southwest of Asbury Park. It was once a factory town that produced iron and was known as Howell Iron Works. Co. The community was self-sufficient and included a blacksmith shop, bakery, boarding house, carpentry and pattern making shop, church, general store, school, and homes. Today, you can tour the village and learn more about its history by participating in hands-on activities. Step inside The Row House to see an example of the interior of the only remaining row house, which often housed 10 or more people. Stop by the General Store to browse reproductions of 18th- and 19th-century goods. You can also check out the Carriage House, Blacksmith Shop, Manager's House, and more. The Historic Village at Allaire is located at 4263 Atlantic Avenue in Allaire. The hours vary. Evening passes are available for $6 for children and $3 for adults. more The Casino Designed by New York Beaux-Arts architects Warren and Wetmore in 1929, who also designed New York's Grand Central Station, the Casino is a slice of vintage Asbury Park. Although no longer functioning, the abandoned building still draws in visitors to wander around the facility and imagine what it was once like in its heyday. The casino was once home to rides, video poker, a flea market, a skating rink, and a skate park. As time went by, the building suffered destruction and parts of it were finally torn down in 2006. What remains is still fascinating to walk around and provides excellent opportunities for amazing and artistic pictures. The Casino is located at 700 Ocean Ave. and is open to the public 24 hours a day. Admission is free. Asbury Park Boardwalk The Asbury Park Boardwalk is an iconic landmark sure to delight both the young and old. Spend the day walking along the boardwalk, smelling the salty air, doing a little people-watching, and seeing the waves crash against the shoreline. Set on the historic beachfront, the boardwalk is adorned with colorful murals and features eclectic boutiques, tasty food, and some of the best live music around. Bring your pup and stop by Wonder Dog Yappy Hour to have a drink while your pup plays in the pools and sandboxes in the fenced-in area. Swing by the Carousel Building to see the beautiful architecture. Take in a dinner and show at Tim McLoone's Supper Club or listen to live music acts at The Stone Pony or The Paramount Theatre.
